Programming an O-Ring on an OD of a Tube. The floor is perp. to the OD so the X and C are being used to generate a groove around a hole. Also G41 cutter comp. is being used to control the groove width. Problem is the cutter is gouging the wall of the groove at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock position where the cutter or axis are changing direction. This is only happening with cutter comp. on and there is a wear value in for the diameter of the tool. The gouge is also = to the wear comp. .0015 gouge with a .0015 wear comp value. When the wear comp. is 0, no gouge. Would anyone have any insight what might be going on?

Thanks,
TB

Is your G41 turning on/off at start of the cycle or is it being turned on/off while the actual cut is in progress? If it being manipulated while in progress, the cutter has to move to take up the tool comp thus, if it is engaged in the part, will gouge.

Just a thot. ;)

Thanks Milling Man, I needed to go with the G41.5 5 axis tool comp and G43.4 tool tip control and everything worked great.
