Hi guys, looking for a little help. Just started a new job today, was suppose to run a regular integrex, but they decided to put me on the E-650 H instead. I won't be able to get the manuals for a few days, so just looking for a few quick answers for now. The person that's getting me familar with the machine is still learning himself. Here's a few questions. 1.The offsets in X move 2 for 1. Is there a parameter to make it move 1 for 1?
2. Tool nose radius not working correctly. Chamfers, etc... not coming out correctly.
We were just milling today, so I'm not sure this is wrong, just going by what he told me.
Is there a parameter for this?
3. How to change offsets on a EIA program, versus a mazatrol program. I've only ran in Mazatrol, not EIA.
4. How to properly set the Z offset. There's no "Setup" page. I presume by using G 54, 55, etc.... Do you add that info in the WPC unit, and if so, can you do it automatically?
5. Also, when drilling vertically, I noticed the buffer has a "Z" move in it, when it should be an "X", but the "X" does move. Is this the way the machine works???
Thanks for any help you can provide. Matt.

I'm not familiar with E650 machine but I think I can help with at least 1 of your issues,
your item #1

1.)"The offsets in X move 2 for 1."(I think you mean its set to absolute) you need to go to the tool layout page , look at the top left hand side , you will see (set up) click with your mouse setup and you will see (Incremental first) click on this and you will see a check or tick come on , its now set the way you want it.

1/SEE ALSO #5 - When on tooldata page ,with your mouse on the 'file' icon(top left of screen. Check diameter or radial input is highlighted]
2/ No idea, more info needed
3/ We run all tools no matter weather we are running mazatrol or EIA programs from the Mazatrol data page - this is controlled by parameters to say read the mazatrol tooldata
4/ No set up page. Choose your work offset ie G55 and set like a lathe -touch on with a tool(or probe)

5/ This one takes awhile to get used to.The machines axis are set out as a lathe.
When you mill ,I assume you used an 'Index' unit in your program. This will put the Z axis down the spindle, No matter weather you are at B 90, B45 etc.
The buffer shows X and the MACHINE posion will also show the movement in X but your workpiece position should show movement in Z.

When milling at B90 we always use a 'WPC SHIFT' this puts the machine in more of a Vertical mill mode and will set Z0.0 as the shift amount in the WPC SHIFT. Now if you drill a hole from Z0.0 to Z-10.0 it will come from this plane.

If you do not use a WPC SHIFT then your programing is from centreline and may be in diameter mode

Hey Rod and Jay, Thanks for the help. The "Setup" file worked great. By checking the "Incremental first" , it locks the increment button in "Pink", and now adds and subtracts without having to hit the increment button every time. There is also a line with a "diameter first" (Never saw that on any other Mazak) Checking on that now moves diameter 1 to 1. However, the machine still seems to be stuck in radial mode instead of diameter mode. When you turn the handle wheel, the machine still moves 2 to 1. (Move .001 , machine moves .002, move .010, machine moves .020, etc. This is on the "X" only, "Z" is ok. Any more ideas?? When I get the books, I'll do some reading, and let you know what's happening. Again, thanks to everyone for your time and knowledge.
Sincerely, Matt.

E machines are different since this is really a mill control with a Lathe thrown in the mix. It will always work like it does since the control comes from the Mill background and not the lathe back ground. Once you get use to it not that bad.
