Hello All,

New to forum. Looks like a great place to share information.

I do have a question. Has anyone tried to adjust parameter RS145 on an e-420H-II to lower the thrust settings for the tailstock? I am adjusting it but it seems like the pressure is still at the lowest 2.0 kN setting. I have cycled power each time I changed the parameter. The CNC signal does change to the new setting??

Since you have Matrix Mx Pro i don't know how is the tailstock detecting the force on the spindle? On our M Pro it's very simple to adjust it. You have to adjust it by hand..see attached documents for more info. Btw if you have different system, you can find this adjustment procedure in your OPERATING MANUAL.

Hope that helps,

Thanks MM for the reply.

I found my answer, the PLC limits the tailstock force to 2.0kN or 450lbs, which seems ridiculous to me. So chaning the parameter is not doing a thing.

I don't understand how the PLC could limit the thrust. I think it has to be parameter driven. Please call your local Mazak Service support center, and reply here. Thanks.

I have called and talked to service, applications, product manager ...
Finally the answer came back that yes parameter RS145 will change the thrust but the PLC is limiting that parameter to change the thrust no lower than 2.0kN. If you have any other ideas let me know.
