Good morning,
Came to work this morning to a crashed machine. There's no doubt the spindle will need to be repaired. I'd like to do as much tear down as I can to keep the down time as short as possible . Anyone know of any reference material or something that might help me in this capacity. Thanks

probaly to late for answering, but what kind of machine you have?
normaly if mill/main spindle is able to rotate, you need to adjust main spindle taper, homes and tooleye paramters. This is normal procedure how to temporary use the machine if for instance, the runout on main spindle is over 10-20 microns and if you are machinig materials wich don't need higher surface speeds.
