You have absolute encoders, relax, please call your local Mazak Tech center, they will give u a procedure over the ph or fax, we just lost position on B-axis. You need to change several parameters, then put them back, let me know if you can;t get help right away, I'll call u if i have to, Have a great day!

I had this exact problem this week A8 drive controls your B axis ,the battery has lost its charge or its volts are low and as a result the machine has lost its B axis home position,

1) replace the battery
2)after re-setting the Baxis home position, turn the big switch at the back of the machine of and on 2 times without turning the control on (just on and off, on and off) wait 10 seconds and on again this is suppose to reset the A8 drive
3)the machine should now remember where the B axis home is

if you need the proceedure for homeing the B axis let me know I can send it in the morning....

mazak123..........
I didn't have to change any parameters at all .I don't think its necessary.

Battery was down to 0.11V so it lost it's home position. After 10 days trouble shooting with Mazak and Mitsu techs and 2 replacement drives sent in. Put in new 3.8V battery, followed B-axis home set procedure and all is well again (but the B axis home light is on at start up BEFORE homing it sometimes???...Oh well).

Too bad machine does not have a "Low Battery" alarm like the horizontals!

Thanks for all the help you guys,

JAC

Love my 3 Integrexs, 2 100, 1 200! All MKIVST Cat40.

Rod, you're right, you do not have to change params with that alarm. There is another alarm when absolute encoders loose the position memory that requires operators to change the SV18 parameter to re-home axis, bit 7 to a zero. I'm sure we will see it on here before too long.
